Officers

Scope:

Systems of insulated conductors and their required facilities for the transport of electric power. Included are the design; installation; operation, repair and preventative maintenance for distribution and transmission. Also included are studies of cable movement, pulling tensions, sidewall pressures, performance and the economics of various types of systems.

Mission Statement:

The Cable Supply Subcommittee's mission is to continually advance the technical understanding of the design, installation, operation, failure mechanisms and repair of transmission and distribution cable systems on an international basis in order to promote the most effective use of power cable systems.

In the Winter of 1998, SC 7 was inactivated as a part of the ICC reorganization. It's Working Groups were reassigned as follows:
