Scope:

Administers standards activities within the ICC: assists the subcommittee with generation, development, revision or reaffirmation of technical standards, guides and recommended practices. Monitors the progress of standards development and schedules the review for reaffirmation. Responsible for the balloting of all standards through proper procedures. Obtains the proper authorization for these standards as they are developed. Coordinates any liaison necessary. Assists in the editing of technical standards and preparation of articles for publication under the sponsorship of the committee.

Mission Statement:

To continuously improve the administration of standards activities in support of the Activities, Participants and Precepts of the Insulated Conductors Committee Mission Statement.

  With the ICC meeting about 1 month from now, below is another friendly reminder about overdue standards. PAR extension requests have been submitted for only two standards (IEEE 1143 and IEEE 1300). For the others, please get these PAR extension requests or new PAR requests submitted quickly as the NESCOM meeting is on October 29, but the agenda deadline is October 18.

  The IEEE-SA is pleased to announce the availability of the new IEEE Standards Word(TM) Template for Drafts. This template for PCs is the result of extensive collaboration between staff and standards participants. The final document is a macro-driven template incorporating all IEEE style guidelines. The template accommodates recent style and font requirements, and contains helpful links to PAR forms and the IEEE Standards Style Manual . Important, detailed documentation is also provided, and is strongly recommended for new users of the template. Working groups who use this template will be able to obtain, at publication, an edited Word version of the IEEE standard. This edited document can then be used during the development of revisions and amendments to the standard.

  The IEEE Publishing Group would like to thank those volunteers who were involved in the testing phase and who provided valuable feedback regarding various beta versions of the template. Working groups have anticipated the release of this template, and we appreciate their patience during its development. The IEEE Standards Word Template for Drafts will be updated simultaneously with the IEEE Standards Style Manual, and will include improvements and enhancements to assist working groups with IEEE document development.
