I. PAR Submittals:
- P851 - "Recommendations for Applications of Flame Retardant
Coatings and Tapes" was submitted for approval for the March, 1998 Standards
Board meeting.
- P1235 - "Standard Test Methods for Identifying (URD)
Underground Residential Distribution Cable Jackets and/or Conduits" was
submitted for approval for the March, 1998 Standards Board meeting.
II. PAR Approvals:
- P1508 - "Standard for Solder-Sweated Split Tinned
Copper Connectors 5kV-35kV" was approved at the December, 1997, Standards Board
meeting.
- P1511 - "Guide for Investigating and Analyzing Power Cable,
Joint, and Termination Failures on Systems Rated 5kV Through 46kV" was approved
at the December, 1997, Standards Board meeting.
III. PAR Withdrawals:
- P83 - "Recommended Practice for Test Procedure for
Radial Power Factor Test on Insulating Tapes in Laminar Insulated Power Cables"
was withdrawn at the December, 1997, Standards Board meeting.
- P971 - "Distribution Cable Installation Methods Duct System"
was withdrawn at the December, 1997, Standards Board Meeting.
- P1254 - "Guide for the Measurement and Use of Soil Thermal
Stability Data" was withdrawn at the December, 1997, meeting. Revision 6 was
received on 3-6-98 requesting for balloting
IV. Standard Submittals:
- P1406 - "Guide to the use of Gas-In-Fluid Analysis for
Electric Power Cable System" was submitted for approval for the March, 1998
Standards Board meeting. This standard has been approved with a conditional rejection from
SCC14, which will convert the units to metric.

VI. Reaffirmations:
- IEEE 404 - IEEE Standard for Cable Joints for use with Extruded
Dielectric Cable rated 5,000 - 138,000 V and Cable Joints for use with Laminated
Dielectric Cable rated 2,500 - 50,000 V. Reaffirmation as well as a PAR for revision
is in the process.
VII. Coordination Requests:
- Thirteen PAR coordination requests resulted in no requests for coordination.
