Though no Working Group meeting was held, Chairman Pitman did provide the following status report:

By end of January, 2000, we had gained an affirmative ballot vote on Revision 18 of the 383 Standard. There were nine negative ballots requiring resolution. Numerous editorial comments were also received

Four Working Group members met in early April to attempt to reconcile the negative ballot comments. It appears at this time that most will be resolvable.

Once the negatives and editorials, to the extent we use these, are factored into a new Draft 19, that draft will go out for ballot once again to the original list of voters. We run some risk that some of those folks who did not vote the first time around, will this time vote. This could extend the ballot/re-ballot cycle markedly. Estimated date for Draft 19 to IEEE for issuance for ballot is July 1, 2000.

Most comments are appropriate and valued and will serve to improve the document.
