Chemical, electrical and mechanical characteristics of dielectrics used for insulated conductors and their accessories. Included are vacuum, gases, liquids and solids. These can be typified by laminated, extruded, pressurized, molded and cryogenic dielectrics used alone or in combination.
Subcommittee 5 coordinates the working groups of the subcommittee and acts as an informational forum both for working group activities and for topics within the subcommittee scope which for one reason or another are not covered in the working group sessions.
